Knitting | classification of knitting |


Knitted fabric defers vastly from woven fabrics. Woven fabric is formed substantially by interlacing of a seems of length wise and cross wise threads. Knitting in its simplest form Consist in forming loops though those previously formed.
Knitting: Knitting is the method of creating fabric by transforming continuous strands of yarn into a series of interlocking loops, each row of such loops hanging from the one immediately preceding it. The basic element of a knit fabric structure is the loop intermeshed with the loop adjacent to it on both sides and above below.  
Classification:
(i)                Warp knitting 


                                     
(ii)             Weft knitting
