The needle: The fundamental element is construction of knitted fabrics is the knitted needle during yarn feeding the hook is opened to release the retained old loop and to receive the new loop which is the enclosed in the hook. The new loop in than drown by the hook through the old loop which slide on the out side of the bridge of the closed hook. All needles must therefore have some method of closing the needle hook to retain the new loop and exclude the old loop.

Types:
(1)  Latch needle


(2)  Bearded needle


(3)  Compound needle
